Hatching Eggs Policy

This policy emphasizes the inherent risks involved in hatching shipped eggs and highlights the importance of approaching this venture with realistic expectations.

When you decide to purchase shipped hatching eggs, it's essential to acknowledge that there is an inherent risk involved. While we take every precaution to ensure the eggs are handled and shipped with care, the process of hatching them is unpredictable and not guaranteed. Factors such as temperature fluctuations, rough handling, shipping delays, impacts during shipping, and differences in incubation practices can all affect hatch rates.  It's important to approach this experience with an understanding that while many eggs may hatch successfully, there may be instances where none hatch.  This unpredictability is a part of the adventure of hatching shipped eggs, and embracing it will help manage your expectations as you embark on this journey.

Incubating and hatching shipped eggs is best suited for experienced hatchers.  Understanding the intricacies of incubation and the various challenges inherent with shipped eggs that can arise during the hatching process is crucial.  Experienced hatchers are typically more adept at troubleshooting potential issues, such as dealing with loose or detached air cells, temperature fluctuations, and managing humidity levels, which can significantly impact hatch rates.  If you're new to hatching eggs, we strongly recommend gaining some hands-on experience with locally sourced eggs first before diving into the exciting and unpredictable world of shipped hatching eggs.

If you are uncomfortable with the risk of not having any eggs hatch, consider buying locally sourced chicks instead.   Purchasing chicks locally ensures that you receive healthy, active birds ready to thrive, allowing you to skip the uncertainties associated with the hatching process. This approach offers a wonderful opportunity to get started with your flock without the unpredictability of hatching eggs.

Refunds (or replacement eggs) will be offered for hatching eggs that arrive broken or visibly damaged from shipping.  We ship all hatching eggs in special purpose foam shippers to protect your eggs from damage.  Each egg is surrounded by foam that provides a stable environment, absorbs impacts from rough handling, and prevents excess moisture from temperature changes.  We very rarely have any broken eggs during shipping.  In the event that the hatching eggs you receive are broken or have visible damage, please take good photos of the damage (both of the eggs and packaging) and reach out to us immediately.   We will guide you through the process to either replace the damaged eggs or issue a refund.  Your satisfaction is important to us, and we strive to ensure that you have a positive experience with your hatching journey, even when unforeseen circumstances arise during shipping.

No refunds will be offered for eggs that fail to develop or hatch.  Hatch rates for shipped eggs are not guaranteed.  A hatching egg that fails to develop during incubation doesn't mean it was infertile - and this is especially true with shipped eggs.  No matter how carefully we pack them, shipped eggs may experience rough handling during transit which can affect the viability of the eggs.   Factors such as shipping conditions, handling practices, and specific incubation environments can all vary significantly, leading to unpredictable outcomes.  Due to conditions out of our control, we can not guarantee the eggs to hatch.

Ready to Embrace the Challenge?  Despite the inherent risks and challenges, the excitement and rewards of hatching shipped eggs can make the venture well worth the effort!  Hatching shipped eggs can provide access to a wider variety of breeds and genetic lines that may not be available locally, promoting genetic diversity in your flock.  If you have your heart set on a particular breed, hatching shipped eggs is one of the few ways to obtain rare or uncommon varieties that are not available locally.
