French Wheaten Marans are a dual purpose heritage breed that has gained recognition and popularity for its rich dark chocolate colored eggs and attractive appearance. They are generally hardy, active, and do very well in a homestead setting. They have a friendly docile temperament and lay 200+ large dark brown eggs per year.
